Moments to Remember: May 4th through May 11th

I love the Moments to Remember meme, started by 1+1+1=1 and Homeschool Creations. It's a great way to give us, as homeschoolers, a way to remember the high points of the previous week. I plan on participating in it every Saturday, as a fun way to remember the past week.

Last Friday, Mighty turned four! She had chocolate chip birthday pancakes (a tradition we started with our kids), opened tons of presents, and had Grandma and her uncle over for birthday cake. I can't believe she's four already.

The weather was cool and rainy early in the week, but it turned warm and sunny on Wednesday. We decided to have our daily quiet reading time out on the blanket on the back lawn. We lay down in the sun, started reading our books, and suddenly it started raining. The kids had fun running around in the rain... until it turned to hail. Then we all ran into the house.

Thursday, it was gorgeous out, so we had school at the picnic table in the back yard. We all agreed that we should do that more often!

And yesterday, I was cleaning and realized that the Littles (Bigs and Mighty) were being awfully quiet in the living room. Expecting some kind of mischief, I peeked around the corner and saw this:

Which made me smile for the rest of the day. :-)

It was a good week overall, and we're in the home stretch before we take six weeks off (July and part of August) for summer vacation. I think (know!) we are all looking forward to it!

  1. I understand the quiet moments... always wondering what they have gotten into! Sweet to find them reading together;)

We are looking forward to a break as well;)
